Brooklands Society News
The Brooklands Society held a social evening at the “Steering Wheel” on May 24th, which was combined with J. H. Morgan’s Brooklands’ Personalities gathering at this Club. Amongst those present were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Hess, Mr. and Mrs. King-Farlow, Mr. and Mrs. Boddy, John Morgan and family, Jack Barclay, Clive Windsor-Richards, Dudley Gahagan, “Wilkie” Wilkinson, Cyril Posthumus, N. W. Lewis, T. A. S. O. Mathieson, Vic Derrington, J. A. M. de Sallis, Vaughan Davis, J. M. A. Edmonson, R. G. C. Williams, Peter Cavanagh, A. J. Nichol, Peter Hull, F. G. Edwards, A. S. Heal, Roy Nockolds, J. W. Powell, R. O. Wilson-Kitchen, Lance Macklin, Basil de Mattos, and others. Apologies for absence were received from Raymond Mays, “Lofty” England, C. R. The next meeting will be the combined Bentley D.C. and B.S. gathering at the “Hand and Spear”, Weybridge, on July 1st. On July 7th Brooklands Society members will congregate inside the old Track for the annual Re-Union, from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m., being joined by Associates for a tea-party and film-show afterwards, at the “Hand and Spear”. To assist the caterers, would those wishing to have buffet tea at 10s. per head please notify us.
