Rubbolite lamps

In these days when good old-fashioned service is such a rare and valued commodity, I should like to commend to readers that offered by Messrs. Flexible Lamps Ltd., of Centre Drive, Epping, Essex.

Requiring recently some small parts for the lampholders of a pair of stop/tail lamps made by this firm, I was pleased to find that the makers of the “Rubbolite” are not the sort of people who try to force the customer to buy complete replacement units, but will deal courteously and promptly with the smallest inquiry. I should add that the parts were needed not because of any failure, but simply because they were missing when I acquired the lamps: I was so impressed with the quality of design and construction that I bought them on the chance of being able to obtain replacements for the missing parts.

Vintage car owners will, no doubt, already be aware of the standard of quality traditional to the Rubbolite, and I am delighted to be able to report service to match! I hope you will find space to print this, as I feel most strongly that the remedy to the current “don’t care” attitude of many manufacturers is in our own hands, and that by applauding proper service when one comes across it, one is striking a small blow for sanity.

I must end with the statement that my only connection with Messrs. Flexible Lamps Ltd. is that of a satisfied customer.
