The Ford Motor Company has taken out a patent (No. 863,246) for a 4-cylinder horizontally-opposed engine with single-piece block. This is a push-rod o.h.v. unit and, apart from watercooling, does seem to smack of” if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em !
