MINIATURES NEWS, July 1958

Two new Dinky Toys car miniatures are available, a Sunbeam Rapier (either in cream and chrome yellow or in two shades of blue) and an Austin A30 (in turquoise blue or stone). The Rapier is the Series 1 version, without tail fins.

There are also two new Corgi miniatures, an effective Riley Pathfinder police car, complete with radio aerial, loud-speaker and police notice (Ne. 209, 3 7/8 in. long; 3s. 6d.) and a tine E.R.F. model 64G earth dumper (No. 458, 3 7/8 in. long, 5s. 9d.) which is notable for the “hydraulic feel” of the tipper when elevating this to any position.

Playcraft also tell us that this month they will introduce a Lotus XI Le Mans sports raring car in the Corgi series (No. 451, 3 5/16 in. long. 3s. 6d.). They remind junior readers that the Corgi Magazine is sent to Corgi Model Club members, the subscription to this Club being 1s. for twelve mouths. You apply for membership to Corgi Model Club, 120, Moorgate, London. E.C.2. The magazine is a “must” if the hobby of collecting Corgi car miniature’s is to be enjoyed to the full—W. B.
