Festival will hail 'young guns'
The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed theme has been announced as ‘Young Guns – Born to Win’.
On June 28-July 1 the Sussex estate will celebrate the young drivers, riders, designers and engineers who “shocked the establishment, affording them immediate superstar status”.
Names like Bernd Rosemeyer, Mike Hawthorn, Lewis Hamilton, Valentino Rossi and Colin McRae will be celebrated, while Lotus Engineering will mark its 60th anniversary. There will be a huge selection of F1 cars, Indycars, saloons and sports cars from the Norfolk company, with some doing hill runs.
The 2012 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in Cheshire will run a month earlier than in previous years, from June 15-17.
