John Hopwood 1933-2006
The death of John Hopwood has robbed British rallying of one of its most endearing characters. As a navigator in the 1950s and ’60s, John sat alongside many of the top names in British rallying. He was instrumental in organising the first Manx Trophy rallies but his most enduring achievement was to create (with Roy Fidler) the most famous rally club in the world, Ecurie Cod Fillet. Our sympathies go to his wife Anne and daughters Kate and Jane.
