Lola starts build run of five T70s
The first of Lola’s ‘continuation series’ T70 Mk3B GT models will take its public bow at Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC on January 12-15.
The Huntingdon-based racecar constructor is building an initial batch of five T70s (see feature on page 56) and will then construct further examples to order.
The new T70s will be powered by a mid-mounted small-block Chevy V8 engine, driven through a fivespeed Hewland LG600 gearbox.
Lola chief Martin Birrane said: “I have owned a T70, the ex-Ulf Norinder car, and it was a wonderful experience. Now Lola customers will be able to compete in genuine factory continuation T70s that are an authentic line of cars made by some of the original staff members who were in Huntingdon building the originals.
“This build is unique and will differentiate between true Lola T70s built at the factory and the many replicas that are out there.”
