A Brazilian wins Macau
Bruno Senna may have fallen well short of emulating his uncle Ayrton’s 1983 win in the Macau Grand Prix – he shunted out on the second lap – but Brazil was still able to celebrate its first winner in 20 years in the classic Far Eastern Formula Three race. Lucas di Grassi took his Dallara-Mercedes, run by British team Manor Motorsport, to victory, emulating Senna Snr and Mauricio Gugelmin (who won in 1985). Di Grassi, one of a number of Renault proteges in junior racing, just managed to pip Robert Kubica, who is shaping up as Poland’s brightest motorsport hope.
