Trident and tested tyres

Those requiring tyres with the correct three-stud tread pattern for early 1930s GP and other cars should note that Trident Tyres has been formed for just this purpose.

The aim is to start with 4.50 x 19 and 5.00 x 19 covers which will be subjected to the same tests as current tyres, i.e. to a 130mph (H) speed rating and to the USA D.O.T requirement.

The 4.50 x 19 tyres will be available by January, at 1,125 each, and the 5.00 x 19 covers at 1,150.

Other sizes will follow.

Trident Tyre Co Ltd has been formed by Julian Majzub.

Mr Derek Freathy, formerly the supremo of Dunlop’s Competition Department, will act as agent for Trident through Concours Tyre International.
