An Answer to Mr. Gibbons

Sir,

I think it should be urgently pointed out to your correspondent Mr. Michael Gibbons, and anybody else who may have read his letter and decided to follow his example, that the only safe use for a bicycle puncture repair outfit is of course on a bicycle inner tube. A car inner tube should be repaired by a vulcanising process requiring the use of special heating equipment.

Hence the reason for his disappointment, a small penalty to pay for his safety and of course the people who have to share our roads with him.
