New Class E record
Tony Crook re-attacked the Class E (2-litre) 200-mile record at Montlhery on November 26th last year and raised it to 120.13 mph, beating the previous record, held by Jack Dunfee’s GP Sunbeam, by 2.46 mph, which exceeds the new increase-margin for records now required by the FCI. Crook drove a “Le Mans Replica” Fraser-Nash stripped of sports equipment and averaged 123.55 mph for the ss hour run. Dunfee’s record had stood for 21 years.
