W. E. ” Wilkie ” Wilkinson, late of Bellevue Garage, Rotol and Parnell’s raciag shop, has settled down in Edinburgh in association with David Murray in acquiring Merchiston Motors, 12/13, Merehislon Mews, Edinburgh. Specialising in Rolls-Royce and Bentley repairs, ” Wilkie ” and Murray hope also to open a racing shop in the old Bellevue tradition, which will be good news for a great many competition drivers who remember the results achieved by Wilkinson before the war.

Vauxhall Motors announce that the price of their Wyvern and Velox saloons was increased by £20 last October, making the present prices, £395 (plus £110 9s. 5d. p.t.) and £450 (plus £125 15s. pt.), respectively.

As Leslie Johnsen, Stirling Moss (Mk. VII Jaguars) and C. Glenie (Austin) are unable to start, in the Monte Carlo Rally, J. A. McLaughlin (Riley), C. F. Bartlett (M.G.) and E. H. (lumina) (Morris) take their place. There are thus 20 British makes entered. Sixty-four of the British entries are scheduled to start from Glasgow. four from Monte Carlo and two front Lisbon. St. Christopher be with them all.

Stirling Moss has accepted it directorship of the Kieft Car Construction Co., Ltd., and is likely to be seen frequently at the wheel of Kieft cars in the coming seasons races.
