Odds and ends
—The Secretary of the H.C.V.C. has acquired a 1915 Y-type Daimler solid-tyred lorry found in good condition on a farm at Upminster. In conjunction with the Finals of the Lorry…
Condition immaculate, splendid, us new,
Outstanding, magnificent, clean,
Its mileage is genuine (very small, too),
A bargain that should be seen.
Mechanically sound, a nice runner, new tyres,
In superb condition throughout,
It’s been laid up for years (if the vendors aren’t liars),
With coachwork quite spotless, no doubt.
Terms are arranged and payment deferred,
Exchanges are made, if desired;
Its guarantee (written) may be seen, not just heard,
And its licence has not yet expired.
In fact it’s colossal, stupendous, divine,
A motorist’s fond, rosy dream;
But beware, reader dear, though it sounds very fine,
Adverts. aren’t always QUITE what they seem.
