Club news, February 2004

Cosworth Racing has renewed its deal to sponsor the FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix in 2004. The series has also been awarded ‘World Championship’ status by the FIA.

The 14th Louis Vuitton concours d’elegance is this year being moved out of London to Waddesdon Manor, near Aylesbury, Bucks. It will be held on June 5. Around 60 cars and 20 will be judged on beauty and originality.

Historic motor clubs now have a voice in the Association of British Motor Clubs, set up two years ago to regularise elements such as grid sizes, marshals’ conditions, calendars and insurance. Grahame White, executive director of the Historic Sports Car Club, will represent historic racers on the association’s committee.
