Your special on Can-Am racing was of great interest to me. I was, at the time, Jackie Oliver’s mechanic on the Shadow ‘101’ car, so it rekindled for me some great memories about keeping the car on winning form.

That took hard work, because the DN4 was very much like a racehorse — very highly strung. Jackie was good at getting the best out of it, even when lots of thing went wrong with the chassis (I remember it starting to break in two because the tub was so light). They were great times.
