Wheatcroft Honored
The HGPCA has presented Tom Wheatcroft with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Paying Tom tribute, the Association’s chairman Julian Sutton said: “Donington Park, which Torn rescued in the mid 1970s, is now the sole surviving operational circuit in the UK with a history which dates back over 70 years. It is the only privately-owned Grand Prix circuit in the world.”
Tom, who turns 80 this year, received his award from ex-GP driver and Le Mans winner, Dickie Attwood (below).
