The Right Stuff
Although I usually run my vintage (low-powered) engines on Castrol GTX, those who are concerned that their vintage cars are given the appropriate lubricants may care to note that Clasoil of Weybridge have introduced a range of such oils, notably a 30/65 to replace SAE 40/50. It is difficult for an ordinary user to test oils, apart from checking gauge readings, without covering a big mileage or checking start-up response in really cold weather. However, Clasoil had sufficient confidence to put on a test of its oils on the dynamometer at Brooklands College, Weybridge; their announcement should interest those who not only want unharmful petrol in their vintage cars but the right oil in their sumps.
