Obituaries

We regret to record the death of Formula Ford team owner Mick Gardner, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a freak road accident just before Christmas. Our sympathies go to his wife Ann, daughter Helen and son Mike. The latter, who had driven for his father’s expanding team since its inception, will continue to run it. We wish him well.

We were also saddened to learn of the passing away of Bob Jeffs, a successful club rallyman throughout the 1970s and early ’80s. He passed away on December 14, after a long illness.

Finally, our thoughts are with the family of Chris Harvey. The jovial author and photographer, a past contributor to MOTOR SPORT, suffered a fatal heart attack on January 8, whilst holidaying in Portugal. He was 53 and will he sadly missed.
