Good Gracious

Sir,

Your December correspondent, Mr. H. Dukes of Linthorpe, appears to have been surprised when he found the battery on his brand new M.G.1100 to be flat on the day after delivery. Perhaps if Mr. Dukes lived in this part of the world he would not have been so surprised, as I have seen on a number of occasions a transporter loaded with B.M.C. cars parked all night (in one case for 12 hours) with only its two front side-lights on, but with the rear car on the lower deck fully illuminated.

This surely is just one more pathetic example of” The Motorist Always Pays!”

In fairness to B.M.C., the lorry each time was that of an outside transport contractor from the Longbridge area.
