Grilled ED.

Sir,

May I thank you for your kind remarks about “Historic Racing Cars 1907-60” and take this opportunity to express regret that, in describing the Alfa Romeo 158/9 I became mixed up in my World Wars. But I am prepared to eat Mr. A. J. P. Taylor’s recent “History of the First World War” if you, or any of your Staff, can move the radiator of a Riley Elf, a Wolseley Hornet, or for that matter a Mercedes-Benz 220 by raising the bonnet.

That is to say, you have fried me, I am prepared to “grille” you!

LAURENCE POMEROY, Managing Director, Technical Relations Ltd.

London, W.1.

(The score is now level, unlike those comic grilles when the bonnets are opened. – Ed)
