Notable in a new edition of the Exide car and motor-cycle battery catalogue, just published by The Chloride Electrical Storage Company Ltd., of Clifton Junction. near Manchester, is the re-appearance after eight years of the well-known Exide “Double-life” battery.
This battery, which carries with it an unconditional two year guarantee, is an improvement on the remarkable version which motorists knew so well before the war—the performance at high discharge rates for starting duties, for example, is definitely superior. Details of the battery’s construction and the provisions of the guarantee are set out in the catalogue.
Another new feature is the introduction of a revised and more convenient series of battery type references. This will lead to a greater degree of standardisation and a simplified identification of the various battery layouts.
