The wind tunnel formerly used by Lola Cars is back on the market. Peer Group, the company founded by the late Martin Birrane, who also owned Lola between 1997 and 2012, is offering the 50% scale moving road tunnel currently situated in Huntingdon at  a guide price of £2.5m plus VAT. The sale follows the completion of its three-year lease to the revived Lola company, which was bought by Till Bechtolsheimer in 2021.

The tunnel has undergone a “substantial upgrade” this year. “This represents incredible value in relation to the cost of building and developing a new wind tunnel, especially as its modular steel construction makes it ideal for relocation,” said Peer Group managing director Howard J Dawson. “We’ve taken what was one of the best 50% scale wind tunnels and brought it up to date with the latest standards of race and road vehicle aerodynamic testing.”
