British historic rallying scene faces shake-up

A new rally championship, run by the team behind the Roger Albert Clark Rally, will shake up the face of historic special stage rallying. The Roger Albert Clark Rally Championship will go

up against the existing British Historic Rally Championship by running classes for all the current categories as well as a new class for cars produced up to 1987. The present cutoff is the end of 1981.

The new championship will comprise seven one-day gravel rallies. “Times are difficult and we are very keen to make the championship as accessible as possible,” said promoter Colin Heppenstall.
