Green team heads to US series

The British Drayson Racing team will field its new British Racing Green Lola coupé in the full American Le Mans Series next season.

Team principal Paul Drayson explained that his new-for-2009 squad is returning to the US series with the Judd-powered LMP1 prototype because of “the opportunities it allows to run alternative technologies”. Drayson is looking at hybrid systems and biofuels in addition to the E85 on which the car raced in the final two ALMS rounds of this season.

Lord Drayson, Minister of Science, will continue to drive with long-time partner Jonny Cocker.
