David Piper and Mike Knight have unveiled plans for the 11th International Springbok Trophy, running in South Africa in February 2008. The twin events will be at the tour’s traditional venues of Zwartkops on February 1/2 and Killarney a week later. The invited cars are 1960 to 1970 GT/sports prototypes and saloons, and 1935 to 1965 single-seaters,
with classes devised once entries have been received.

The 2008 Monaco Historic Grand Prix will run over the weekend of May 10/11. The sixth running of the event will feature a similar line-up of races to the 2006 edition, with the 3-litre F1 entry divided into a pre-75 grid and one for pre-78 cars. Front-engined Formula Juniors will also be part of the seven-race programme.

The weekend of July 11-13 is confirmed for the 2008 Le Mans Classic event. The fourth running of the 24-hour event will again bring cars from the race’s history back to Le Mans, with entries spanning the era from 1923 to 1979. As before, priority will be given to cars with a genuine Le Mans history.

Since the Japanese Grand Prix, tickets for next year’s British Grand Prix have been selling at an unprecedented rate. So far Silverstone has sold 10,000 tickets, which is more than double the figure sold by
this time last year.

David Stokes and Guy Weaver won the Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship in a Mk1 Escort after a battle that went down to the wire on the final round in Yorkshire in early October.
