New champions -- who's taken the big 2005 titles?

Just 24 years old, the Brit is already a champion in one of Europe’s top touring car series, Germany’s DTM. The works Merc driver saw off Audi’s Mattias Ekström at the Hockenheim finale after a season-long battle. Now he’s been promised a test with the McLaren F1 team.

He may look like an accountancy student, but the Frenchman wrapped up the Champ Car World Series for the second year running with a round to spare after another successful season with Newman/Haas Racing. He’s even done well in IROC too.
