Martin Schanche took storming wins in the British Rallycross Grand Prix and Inter-Nations Cup in his monstrously quick Xtrac Ford Escort Turbo at Brands Hatch (below). The flamboyant Norwegian dominated both events in his Zakspeed-tuned machine, easily leading home the Audi Quattros of Olle Arnesson and world rally champion Stig Blomqvist. British rallycross champ John Welch didn’t even make it through practice after suffering endless engine problems with his newly built Escort.
