Saab's new test
A capacity held of 1950s cars will contest the ‘Rally of the Tests’ from November 30 to December 2.
This new event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first competitive RAC Rally, as the 1951 event was the first to feature timed tests on private ground.
Just as in 1951, it starts in Blackpool on Friday and finishes on Brighton’s seafront three days later.
Leading the field away will be Arthur Senior, who finished in the top 10 in 1955.
But perhaps the star car will be the Saab 93 driven by Erik Carlsson and Stuart Turner to victory in the 1960 RAC Rally.
Elsewhere in the field will be the Reliant Sabre in which Roger Clark started his works rally career, ex-works Triumphs, Saabs and Austin Healeys.
Notable names in the entry include former winning co-driver Tony Mason and ex-works driver Roy Fidler.
