Dale earnhardt's winner heads arizona auction
A 1986 NASCAR racer driven by Dale Earnhardt will be one of the star lots at the annual Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Arizona in January. More than 300 classic cars are entered, and the event organisers report record levels of interest from buyers and sellers. Memorabilia and machinery from the worlds of NASCAR, Champ Car and F1 racing will prove hugely popular.
The Eamhardt car is the Chevrolet Monte Carlo he drove during his first title-winning season with the Richard Childress Racing team, and has been authenticated by the people who built and prepared the can Other notable entries for the auction include a GT 40 originally used as a camera car in the Grand Prix film, and a 1920 Paige 6-66 speed record car.
“History has shown that when the stock market is questionable and interest rates are low, collectors look to classic cars as a secure appreciable asset to consider,” says Craig Jackson, president of the Barrett- Jackson Auction Company.
