…FOUR

I looked forward keenly to November’s edition and the final countdown to The Greatest Driver’, and what a massive disappointment! Nuvolari at number one: Well, indisputably the best driver of his era, arguable but logical. Who’s this at two? Gilles Villeneuve! The greatest of his era certainly not! His achievements scant and certainly not work! beating. A born racer certainly. but then so were Rosberg, Jones and Mansell (and they all won World Championships.)

To put Jackie Stewart back in 15th is an insult to the man’s ability and achievements. Moss in tenth? Surely a strong contender for the top three. Fangio sixth! Preposterous, as is Niki Lauda, another three times World Champion back in 19th. Please print the top ten in the proper order, as follows: 1 Fangio; 2 Clark; 3 Moss; 4 Stewart; 5 Senna; 6 Lauda; 7 Prost; 8 Nuvolari; 9 Mansell; 10 Ascari. Numbers one to eight were head and shoulders

above the rest in their respective eras while nine and ten enjoyed significant spells of domination. Surely this should have been the main criteria. / 10/16, ER: 01 IN ROUTEN, HERNE BA); KENT
