Bilstein's British concessionaires

Some seven years ago a business called Magard was founded by present managing director Paul Bamford. The company specialises in selling and distributing parts to improve performance of popular cars, especially Vauxhalls for whom they act as Vauxhall Sportpart distributors throughout the world.

Now they have added the Bilstein gas-filled shock absorber line to their warehouse stock, which also covers Flexsafe fuel tanks, SICLI fire extinguishers and Campagnolo lightweight wheels. They must be fairly busy individually for only 11 staff are employed.

The Bilstein range is a wide one, for road use as well as its well-known competition prowess. Prices start around £25 per unit and stretch to well beyond £100.  It is said that over 30% of an Bilstein’s manufacturing costs are attributable to quality control work.
