THE G.M.W.

The Guild of Motoring Writers held its 21st Anniversary Banquet at the Dorchester, with Sir Patrick Hennessy, Sir William Lyons and the Minister of Transport amongst the important guests. The A.G.M. and Annual Dinner takes place at the R.A.C. on December 17th. This year, too, the G.M.W. issued its first Year Book, with the generous co-operation of H. R. Hill and J. Oldaker of the Motor Agents’ Association. The Guild developed from the Circle of Motoring Writers which was formed in 1944 and after a year membership stood at 15 – it is now well over 250. The oldest member is St. J. Cousins Nixon, who is an active writer at the age of 80. The President is the Duke of Richmond & Gordon.
