• THE HEALEY SILVERSTONE Sir,
Please draw the attention of Mr. A. Walker (” Mystery “) to the road-test report by yourselves (November 1949) of the Healey Silverstone. Viz.: o-6o m.p.h., 51.0 sec.; moat m.p.h., stopwatch, under unfavourable conditions.
Since the test car was not fitted with a mileometer your testers were unable to quote an accurate fuel consumption; my experience of the past three years with one of these exhilarating rising 33-yearold cars indicates 22-23 m.p.g. consistent with motorway cruising of go m.p.h. at 4,000 r.p.m., which are good figures for even this day and age.
