Teachers and Renaults

Sir,
As a regular reader of your magazine, I feel I must protest at the inclusion in your current editorial of your personal views on the action of the schoolmasters of Great Britain.

Whether or not I agree with your views is beside the point, although in all fairness I must say that I strongly disagree, but when I eagerly open your magazine I expect to read of matters directly related to the motoring world and little else.

Attention to matters far removed from the real aspect of the magazine can only lead to inaccuracies in reporting on relevant matters. In this context I would draw your attention to your own report on the new Renault 4L in which you mention “bijou cubby-holes with pull-up plastic lids.” These are, of course, covers over ventilating apertures, as little more than a cursory glance would reveal.

I leave you to take up with “D. S. J.” whether in fact VWs do hinder travel on the German autobahnen, and assure you that I will continue to read your excellent magazine.
