Wrap them up, please!
According to B.M.C. World, a Canadian department store is selling Austin 850s over the counter in the same way as other goods. A recent order for “300 dozen” Minis includes an order for “50 dozen” Cooper versions which will be a new line when they arrive. Already the firm has sold over 1,200 Minis in this way and expect to sell 2,000 a year. The customer pays £3 down with three years to pay. Snags? No part exchanges, no discounts and, one would imagine, a lack of service.
