The New Allard Saloon

**** •• ******* •••••• • The New Allard Saloon

A new model at Earls Court was the attractive Allard two-door saloon. The coachbuilt aluminium-panelled bodywork was by Hilton Brothers and featured a lockable 20 Cu. ft. luggage boot with double interior lockers, concealed door hinges, 80 degree deflection vent windows, and an opening windscreen. Within there were adjustable front seats forming a three-abreast seat when required, hide and Latex rubber upholstery, air-conditioning, de-icing and heating, door-operated interior lighting and provision for H.M.V. radio. Chassis features included Lockheed 2LS brakes and side jacking. Truly a de luxe version of one a our most successful high-performance cars. The price, with p.t., is £1,790 7s. 10d. Incidentally, although steering column gear-change has been adopted for all the Allard models, the older remote gear-change is still available if preferred and we understand that the improved syriebromesh of the latest Ford gearbox 1 Ge; enhanced its action considerably. * * *
