JORGE LORENZO
JO RG LO ZO
THE NEW KING OF MOTOGP by Jorge Lorenzo The idea of a pictorial review of a
racer’s career is not exactly original. Some might even think it self-indulgent, especially given the title and the firstperson text. However, since it’s from a MotoGP rider, and one as exciting as Jorge, it’s absolutely fantastic.
If this was written by a Formula 1 driver then it just wouldn’t work. Can you imagine over 200 pages of PR shots? Yes, so can I, and it wouldn’t make for interesting reading.
Lorenzo is one of the stars of MotoGP and as you turn the pages of the book you get an idea of why the bike series is so popular. The images of his hilarious and mostly bizarre celebrations are great, while action shots and short captions help to guide you through his hugely successful career. It’s not often a photographic review of a modern driver or rider works so well, but this effort by the 2010 MotoGP World Champion is a worthy addition to any bike racing fan’s library.
