Fitting tribute to McLaren founder
June 2 marked the 40th anniversary of Bruce McLaren’s fatal testing crash in a McLaren Can-Am car at Goodwood. In memory of the company’s founder, staff staged a minute’s silence at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. This was followed by a minute of noise from a Chevrolet V8-powered M8D Can-Am car. Tyler Alexander, who worked with Bruce, and McLaren boss Ron Dennis were both present. See Nigel Roebuck, page 20
