European debut for Reventlow car

The cooper bobtail campaigned in 1958 by American Lance Reventlow has been raced in Europe for the first time by new owner Jeremy Cooke.

The Cooper was the last car of the Bobtail era and was raced at Sebring and Daytona in ’58 by Woolworth heir Reventlow, before he went on to build his own cars under the Scarab badge.

“It’s a fantastic car and it hadn’t raced for a long time. I found it at Coys and it’s been rebuilt from scratch,” said Cooke, who plans to race it regularly and compete at Goodwood.
