Jaguar F1 in Brands demo

For the first time in over 10 years, a contemporary Formula 1 car has been driven around Brands Hatch. Ex-F3 Champion and BAR tester Marc Hynes drove the 2004 Jaguar R5 – in which Mark Webber scored points in that year’s World Championship – on a number of demonstration laps (above), recording an average speed of 110.88mph.

In drying but still damp conditions, Hynes set a fastest lap of 1min 14.7sec, which was three tenths off Robbie Kerr’s pole time for the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Sprint race at Brands in early May.
