Cars sought for Dundrod demo

The six Tourist Trophy races run on the famous Dundrod circuit in Northern Ireland in the 1950s will be marked by a special demonstration during the Ulster Grand Prix motorcycle event in mid-August. Organisers hope to attract a number of period sports and racing cars from the 1930s through to the ’60s for two hour-long demo sessions on August 13-14.

“We do not intend to restrict this to TT-type cars as many single-seaters raced at Dundrod in the Ulster Trophy races, and the participation of Moss and Fangio in the original BRMs in 1952 was a highlight,” said organiser Rodney McComb.

Car racing at the 7.4-mile closed public road circuit ceased in 1955, but motorcycle racing continues. For details contact Bill McMahon on 028 9076 0945 ([email protected]).
