Collins returns 21 to competition
The Lotus 21 which scored Team Lotus’s first grand prix win has returned to racing in the hands of new owner Dan Collins.
Two years on from its last race, Collins made his debut in the car at Oulton Park and now intends to race it regularly.
The chassis Collins has acquired is the one Innes Ireland drove to victory at Watkins Glen in 1961. It will be prepared by Classic Team Lotus.
“I’m a bit of a Lotus man, so I was delighted when it became available,” says the regular TGP racer, who hopes to enter the car at Silverstone, Goodwood and Donington this summer.
