Whose Hesketh?

Sir,

With reference to your article on Rupert Keegan in the July issue, I’d like to point out that the Hesketh models raced by Anthony Horsley’s team in 1976 were 308Ds, not 308Cs. The 308Cs were sold to Frank Williams at the end of 1975 and raced in ’76 as the Williams FW05, sponsored by Walter Wolf and driven by Jacky Ickx, Michel Leclère and Arturo Merzario. The 308C had been given its debut in the 1975 Italian GP in the hands ofJames Hunt.

The 308Ds were old chassis from the 1974 and ’75 seasons with minor modifications.

I am, yours etc,
