Pirelli's publicity film
A considerable sensation has been caused by “The Tortoise and the Hare,” Pirelli’s 37-minute film based on the Aesop fable, which won a National Film Award this year. It was made mostly on the Autostrada del Sole, the “hare” being played by Liz Allsop driving a Jaguar E-type. This film, described as a major breakthrough in industrial film presentation, took 5 1/2 weeks on location and almost 12,000 miles’ driving, the camera team being led by Wolfgang Suschitzky. The Production Manager was Guy Marzacchi, the Producer Derek Forsyth. In Panavision and Eastmancolor, the film will be available for Club film shows, and was based on suggestions made by Club officials to the British Pirelli Company.
