Book news

The spate of motoring books, many of them admittedly of a very high standard and quite irresistible to true enthusiasts, shows no signs of diminishing to any appreciable degree. One hears that Ronald Barker is working on a sports-car history for Batsford which will presumably sort out the complexities of the many and confusing French and Italian fast cars, and that E. R. Hall may compile his life history, while Batsford have further titles in their “Pocketbook” series in hand. The third book in the Montagu Museum series is likely to be a history of the Gordon Bennett races with research done in Ireland, and we believe both Kay Petre and Alan Hess have inclinations towards authorship. Moreover, it is said that Ron Flockhart is also taking up the pen and that Tony Brooks is busy writing up his career.
