200 MILE RACE PROSPECTS
The J.C.C. 200-Mile Race at Donington on August 28th should be an extremely well fought and instructive race, easy for spectators to follow. The entry list, originally to have closed on July 31st, was extended until August 8th. As we close for press we have heard of the following entries :—Charlie Martin, Arthur Dobson, Ian Connell, Reggie Tongue and Peter Whitehead (11-litre two works ” B. Bira’s ” 3-litre Maserati which retired from the International Trophy Race, Steve Chiappird (S. African) with a 2.5-litre Maserati, Robin Hanson, Wakefield and Austin Dobson with Ii-litre Maseratis, A. V. Ashby’s Ferarri Alfa-Romeo 3.2-litre, Kenneth Evans’s 2.9-litre AlfaRomeo that finished ninth in the German G.P., Rolt’s ” Dolomite ” Triumph, Parnell’s well known M.G., Percy Maclure’s Riley and Hans Ruesch’s 3.8-litre
Alfa-Romeo. The Riley is a 2,004 .c.c. unblown car.
The race is a scratch contest, with special prizes for l I-litre cars.
