New SR10 XXR is radical by name and nature

It looks fast and powerful – and it is: 425bhp and 380lb ft of torque. Result? A 0-62mph acceleration time of 2.4sec.

When fast isn’t fast enough, there is the Radical SR10 XXR. Built for track-day enthusiasts, this latest offering from the Cambridgeshire-based firm offers buyers the same thrills as the standard version but with some added Le Mans prototype flourishes.

The original SR10 was launched in 2020 and became the fastest-selling of all the marque’s models – it is particularly popular in the US, apparently. One of the most noticeable differences on this upgraded version are new-look front louvres on the car, which have been created to improve the SR10’s aerodynamics as well as boosting its cooling efficiency. Other tweaks include an LMP-style central fin to improve stability at high speed and new alloy wheels, while a new splitter and diffuser package is available as an optional extra.

It is still powered by Radical’s Ford EcoBoost-based 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder. Many of the SR10 XXR updates will be available to current SR10 owners in the form of a new ‘XXR Evolution Pack’.

The SR10 XXR is available to order now with production starting in spring.
