In our cover feature, it’s obvious the Ford GT has several design nods to its GT40 past: notably the circular rear lights and the air outlets and intakes. Ford also wanted to keep the distinctive “teardrop” shape but without the GT40’s well-known early aerodynamic headaches. In order to avoid tack-on aero elements, Ford added a computer-managed rear wing, complete with a small Gurney flap.
