Ickx Ferrari to race again
The Ferrari 312B2 that Jacky Ickx took to victory in the 1972 German Grand Prix is set to return to racing this spring, hopefully at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix. The 3-litre, flat 12-engined car is now owned by James Hanson and is not thought to have raced since the 1970s.
As well as Monaco, Hanson plans to compete in Grand Prix Masters, which is supported by his Speedmaster organisation.
“It is very original,” said Hanson. “But it needed some work before it could be raced again. It will be brilliant to drive it.” The car has spent most of the past 30 years in private collections.
