Over the Hill

Sir,

A news article in your March edition stated that the Embassy Hill Formula One team was testing its GH1 chassis at Paul Ricard in 1975 before boss Graham Hill and other team members made their fateful last flight back to England.

I remember this to not be the case. After an earlier unfruitful test session, it was the new car, GH2, which was taken to the south of France, where in the hands of the brilliant young Tony Brise it performed favourably.

After Graham’s death the car, which never competed, passed to the National Motor Museum.

I am, yours, etc
